Tie Fighters are small, fast, maneuverable
ships. They must be deployed from bases and capital ships, as they cannot
travel great distances on their own. TIE's do not have a shield system
and can be taken out by only a few laser hits. The Tie Fighters have
served the Imperial fleet very well, and at the height of the Empire's
rule, theses ships were cheaply made and easily expendable.
