Sidious is the last of the Sith, an ancient race that manipulates the dark side of the Force. Since there can only be two Sith Lords at a time (ex.: Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader), Sidious has been training his own apprentice Darth Maul. Some believe Sidious does not exists and that all of the Sith were wiped out thousands of years ago. And it’s still uncertain why Sidious wants to invade Naboo or make allies with Niemodians’ Trade Federation. One thing is certain, Sidious is a great threat to the Republic and the Jedi Council. About the Actor who Portray's SidiousFinding out what actor portrays Sidious is just as hard and understand the character. In the realeas of the film Sidious’s name is not mention in the credits. He isn’t even mentioned in the official site. A few months ago T’Bone Fender stated on his web site that Sidious was played by Ian MacDiarmid. Ian also plays as Palpatine in both The Phantom Menace and Return of the Jedi. It is very clear to all Star Wars fans that Sidious looks and sounds exactly like Palpatine, but no official sources have been able to confirm it. I guess we will have to wait till later Episodes to find out who plays as Sidious.
